Ganesh Chaturthi Saptah is one of the biggest among three saptah’s conducted at Shantikuteer. It is celebrated from Shravan Vadya trayodashi to Ganesh Chaturthi. It was started in the year 1961 at Shanti Kuteer. This Saptah was initially started at Inchageri village back in 1958, there were about 60-70 people and total expenditure was about Rs 75-80 of that time. It was subsequently celebrated at Kannur village in 1959 and 1960. From the year 1961 it has been celebrated at Shanti Kuteer.
Ganesh Chaturthi day also happens to be Shri S. S. Maharaj’s birthday, so the Ganesh Chaturti Saptah also called Janmotsav (Birth Celebration) Saptah. Initially the saptah was from 3 days upto Ganesh Chaturthi, later it was increased to 7 days.
After S.S.Maharaj laid down his life in 2004, every 5 years disciples celebrate for 9 days upto Ganesh Chaturthi. During the saptah many dignitaries, seers and saints bless the occasion and delivery discourses. At evening musical and cultural programs are conducted.
Its one such occasion where all disciples gather and perform selfless seva in the lotus feet of Shree Maharaj and celebrate it as a festival of the Sampradaya. Last day of the saptah Paduka’s of Shree siddharameshwar Maharaj are brought from Sadguru Ganpatrao Maharajs birth place in Kannur village to shanti Kuteer in a procession with music, singing and praising Sadguru.
